Hi, I’m Erin Hendley, professional makeup artist, and today I’m going to show you how to blot to remove oil from oily skin. So, what we have here is sunscreen, and that’s our main concern. Sometimes sunscreen, once we need to put it on, can read a little bit oily, especially if you already have oily skin in general. So, as you can tell the sunscreen on her face has a little shine to it, and the best way to keep the actual sunscreen on our skin to let it do its purpose but eliminate the shine is to really just give it a good blotting. And so, what we’re going to do is take a cotton round and really just go over the skin. You can swipe a little bit, but the main reason we have this round is to just blot. So, what we’re doing is pressing into the skin just to take off the top layer of oil. Sunscreen’s always going to give a little bit of an oily cast, but we can definitely pick up the excess with a cotton round by blotting in small little dabs, finding a clean surface every couple times you dab, so you have an area to actually pick up the product. The chin and the t-zone, those are the places where we’re going to have the oils gather the most. And, one last extra step if you just want to eliminate it a little bit more, is to just go over with either a tissue or a paper towel and just press. You’ll uproot a few more of the oils. Blotting’s our main focus here, but if you want to eliminate the shine altogether, you can continue to go on to the next step and put a loose powder over it just to wash that all off. I’m Erin Hendley, and I just showed you how to blot to remove sunscreen with oily skin.
